JAMMU, Oct 27: A chain snatcher was arrested from Vikas Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar police station.
As per police sources, a lady namely Anuradha, wife of Surinder Raina, a resident of Vikas Nagar was going home, when a youth snatched her chain weighing around 2 tolas and escaped from the spot.
After getting information, police also reached the spot and arrested the accused with the help of locals.
The gold chain was also recovered from the possession of the accused, who has been identified as Munish Gupta (25), son of Anil Gupta, a resident of Rehari Colony.
A case under FIR Number 138/15 under Section 382 RPC has been registered against the accused at Bakshi Nagar police station and investigations started.
