SAMBA, Oct 16: District Legal Services Authority, Samba conducted third Undertrial Review Committee meeting as per the schedule, which was launched by National Legal Services.
The meeting was chaired by Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman DLSA, Samba, Ravinder Nath Wattal, with the members of Undertrial Review Committee (UTRC) Samba.
In the meeting, the Committee reviewed cases of eligible UTPs/Prisoners shortlisted by the Secretary, DLSA Samba for consideration. The Committee considered 22 cases of UTPs/Prisoners out of which 3 cases were recommended for release and 2 were recommended to concerned Court for appropriate action.
The meeting was attended by Sandeep Singh Sen, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Samba; Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Samba; G R Bhardwaj, Addl SP on behalf of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba. Besides these, Veerinder Bhat, Sr Superintendent, Central Jail Kot Bhalwal; Koushal Kumar, Superintendent, District Jail Kathua and Harish Kotwal, Superintendent District Jail Amphalla, Jammu joined the meeting through virtual mode while Legal Aid Defense Counsels also attended the meeting.
