Chairman IFFCO, employees’ bodies call on LG

JAMMU, Feb 7: Dileep Sanghani, Chairman, IFFCO, GUJCOMASOL and National Cooperative Union of India Head along with key stakeholders from Cooperative Sector met the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan today.
The meeting discussed several interventions to enhance the efficiency of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies and membership of national federations.
Deliberations were held on utilising the experience and expertise of retired army personnel in Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), formation of new Farmers Producers Organisations and Co-operative Societies for promotion of tourism.
The Lt Governor appreciated the vital role being played by the different stakeholders in strengthening the cooperative sector.
“The UT Administration will ensure the cooperative movement brings prosperity to farmers and our villages,” he said.
Dr. Krishan Bir Chaudhary, Member, MSP committee and National President, Bharatiya Krishak Samaj;   Praveen Sharma, Chairman,  Citizens Cooperative Bank Ltd; Vikrant Dogra, Chairman,  JK Dairy Cooperative Federation; Khalid Lone from Sarhad Tourism Cooperative, Uri and other prominent members from cooperative moment were also present during the interaction.
Representatives of All Sikh Minority Employees Association and All Employees Joint Association Kashmir (M) led by Jagmeet Kour Bali also called on Lieutenant Governor.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the Lt Governor led UT Administration for taking several welfare initiatives for the minoirty Community employees.
Palak Kour Bijral, International Rhythmic Gymnast from J&K also called on the Lt Governor.
