SRINAGAR, Aug 9: In a significant step towards strengthening the implementation of the Real Estate Regulation and Development Act, 2016, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Real Estate Regulatory Authority (JK RERA), Satish Chandra chaired a high-level meeting with Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Heads of Departments under the Housing and Urban Development Department at Civil Secretariat, here today.
Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department, Mandeep Kaur was also present in the meeting.
The meeting commenced with a brief introductory address by the Chairman, who emphasized the critical role of JK RERA in ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the real estate sector.
He highlighted the Authority’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of homebuyers and promoting the orderly growth of the real estate market in Jammu and Kashmir.
A presentation was delivered during the meeting, outlining the mandate and functions of JK RERA. The presentation provided an in-depth overview of the regulatory framework, compliance requirements, and the Authority’s approach to resolving grievances and disputes in the sector.
The Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners sought clarifications on various aspects of the Act. The Chairman, along with other senior officials, addressed these queries, ensuring that all concerns were effectively clarified.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development, Mandeep Kaur reaffirmed the department’s commitment to working closely with JK RERA to achieve the shared goals of fostering a transparent and well-regulated real estate environment in Jammu and Kashmir.
