JAMMU, Apr 25: Chairman, Public Health & Sanitation Committee (PH&SC) JMC Arun Kumar Khanna today conducted a general meeting with officials of the Health and Sanitation Department of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
During the meeting, Khanna took serious note of ongoing sanitation condition in entire wards of Jammu. It was resolved in the meeting that XEn PDD should be call in next house meet. It was decided that if District Administration or any other agencies use JCB or any other machinery of JMC for anti-encroachment drive then they have to pay charges to the Corporation.
Khanna said that control rooms should be constructed in JMC so that they may come to know that how many lights are installed and how many are left. It was resolved that a letter must be forwarded to Secretary RDD with the plea to transfer Panchayat Ghar falling under JMC limits to the Corporation so that it can be used as a ward office .
It was decided that Rationalization of ‘Safai Sathies’ should be done and a committee must be constituted to recommend for enhancement of rent of ward office as per market rate. “Further, all formalities should be cleared like Rent Deed/site planned for ward offices and vaccination of street dogs should be done,” Khanna added.
Khanna appealed the general public not to throw waste here and there and instead put them in dedicated JMC vehicles so that Jammu city could be made Smart City in real sense. As majority of the officials did not attend the meet, Khanna pass directions for issuing notices to them and seek explanation for not attending the meet.
