Chairman Team Jammu inaugurates ‘Sunbro Cup’

JAMMU, Oct 18: Sunbro 7th Ravi Singh Charak Memorial Cricket Tournament (Sunbro Cup) was inaugurated by Team Jammu Chairman Zorawar Singh Jamwal at Government High School Satwari, here today.
Jamwal met the players of both the teams of Cantt Cricket Club and Press Club who participating in the exhibition match of the competition and wished them all their best.
He asked the players to follow all the guidelines of the administration so that they can participate in the games as well as defeat the Corona epidemic.
He said that only through sports, youth can stay fit as well as stay away from drugs which is their resolve.
Winning the toss in today’s exhibition match, the captain of the Press Club Naveen Koul decided to bat first. By losing all wickets before the allotted 20 overs, Press Club gave the target of 110 runs to the rival team. Shalu scored 34 runs, while Jugal made 16 runs, Rupesh and Rohit scored 14 runs each and Anil Langeh made 10 runs.
From Cantt Cricket Club, Gaurav took 3 wickets, Piyush scalped 2 wickets, Vijay and Dheeraj took 1 wicket each.
In reply, the Cantt Cricket Club hit the target with 9 wickets in hand in which Niranjan Charak (Sonu) made 65 runs and Rohit scored 32 runs.
Vineet was only wicket taker from Press Club.
Niranjan Charak (Sonu) from Cantt Cricket Club was declared as Man of the Match and received trophy from chief guest Zorawar Singh.
Vijay Choudhary and Dinesh were umpires in today’s match.
