Chakreshwar Sanstha holds meet, discusses recent developments

JAMMU, Apr 7: Shree Shree Jagat Amba Sharika Chakreshwar Sanstha in a meeting here, today said that all efforts will be made to maintain the pristine glory of the holy shrine which is one of the ancient religious palaces of Kashmir dating back to Puranic period.
Maintaining that the shrine has been the presiding deity of Kashmir, the Sanstha expressed its utmost displeasure and concern over the happenings at this holy shrine on the day of Navreh (first Navratra).
It said the Sanstha in view of allegations against its president has divested him of the post pending inquiry which will be conducted by the Sanstha team. It said the Investigation Committee will carry out a thorough probe in the matter and in case the allegations levelled against Ranjit Gurkha ex president were proved the action under law will be taken against him. But at the same time the Sanstha in unequivocal terms made it clear that it will not allow any one including Government to interfere in the affairs of our religious affairs.

Secretary, M L Sathoo while deliberating over the unfortunate situation said it has cast shadow over the temple’s reputation. It said Gurkha has been relieved of all responsibilities and management is actively working to restore trust and reinforce the values of transparency and accountability in the administration of the religious institution.
