JAMMU, July 24: Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu today felicitated Regional Passport Officer, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, who has recently been awarded a certificate for runner up amongst all the Passport Officers (37) and Passport Seva Kendras (77) for achieving high standards of Passport service delivery to the citizens during 2014-15 in the recently held Passport Officers Conference in New Delhi, by the Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Sawraj.
The Jammu Chamber organised a function in this connection at the Chamber House, Rail Head complex today. Danish Rana, IGP Jammu also graced the occasion as chief guest. President of CCI Rakesh Gupta and Sham Lal Langar welcomed the IGP and the Regional Passport Officer.
While speaking on the occasion CCI president highlighted the achievements of the Passport Officer. He said that Rajinder Gupta has the privilege of being the first officer from the Police cadre who has been nominated for this posting on deputation as Regional Passport Officer Jammu since February 2012 and during his tenure the scenario of issuance of Passport has changed entirely with a commendable appreciation from the public at large.
The IGP Jammu in his address also appreciated the efforts of Rajinder Gupta for making the working of the Passport Office Jammu as hassle free. He also lauded the role of Chamber of Commerce & Industry as a part of social corporate responsibility.
Rajinder Gupta in his address said that if any person has any problem regarding issuance of Passport, he /she may visit his office. He further assured that their problems will be solved at the earliest possible time.
The other officer bearers of Chamber of Commerce & Industry present in the meeting included Deepak Aggarwal, Junior vice president, Arun Gupta, secretary general and Ashu Gupta, treasurer.
