Chamber has no affiliation with any party: CCI chief

JAMMU, Dec 19: Taking U-turn from his yesterday’s announcement of supporting BJP, president Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) Jammu, Rakesh Gupta today said  that Chamber has no political affiliation with any party.
Talking to media-persons at the press conference here this afternoon, the Jammu Chamber president while issuing appeal  to the trade and business community to exercise their democratic right, said that Chamber is a neutral  body and it has no affiliation with any political party.
Mr Gupta further said that members have right to vote for any political organization of their. The Chamber can only wish good luck to the members of all the political parties.
Interestingly, the CCI president had announced  support to BJP after holding meeting with the  BJP candidates from Jammu East and Jammu West besides BJP MLA and former Union Minister Chaman Lal Gupta, Ramesh Goel- All India BJP Trade Cell co-convenor  and senior BJP leader Ashok Koul and Anu Gupta. Today, the CCI  hurriedly called a press conference and reversed the stand.
