JAMMU, Sept 29: A delegation of Chamber of Traders Federation, led by its Patron Neeraj Anand, called on Chief Secretary Dr Arun Mehta in Jammu today and apprised him of major issues hampering Jammu businesses. Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma was also present on the occasion.
The delegation sought immediate resolution of issues like renewal of lease deed of Narwal Mandi, Gair Mumkin Khad, Roshni /Nazool related issues besides release of payments to vendors and companies.
Neeraj Anand said that the uncalled for delay in renewing the lease deeds of the Narwal Fruit Market was hindering the growth of horticulture business. “Banks and other financial institutions have stopped extending credit facilities and treat assets as of “zero value” in absence of the renewed lease deed document. This has huge financial impact on the whole money rotation cycle,” he added.
Raman Gupta, President CTF, dwelled upon impact on businesses due to ambiguity of revenue laws and terminologies like Gair Mumkin Khad, Roshni Schemes /Nazool land etc. He stressed for immediate resolution of revenue record related issues to help revive the falling businesses.
He claimed that entrepreneurs were unable to take benefits of various Government schemes for business development as the mortgage value was considered zero by banks and other financial institutions.
Dinesh Gupta, Gen Secretary, CTF asked for immediate release of payments due towards many big brands which have supplied goods to Government Departments against proper advertised tenders. Even those Govt departments which have been shut now like JAKFED owe crores of rupees to national companies, he added and opined that image of the UT Government was getting tarnished due no non-release of due payment thus creating doubts in the management of big houses viz a viz further investment in J&K.
The Chief Secretary listened to various other issues raised by the delegation and assured early redressal. He said Revenue records are being corrected using scientific methods which will end malpractices. Mayor also assured the delegation that LG administration was very serious about honestly serving the public and empowering them with transparency. Praveen Gupta and Shiv Gupta were also part of the delegation.
