JAMMU, June 15: The Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries and representatives from various market Associations in an urgent meeting held at Chamber House today under the presidentship of
Arun Gupta discussed and deliberated upon the prevailing situation in Jammu region due to recent increasing terror attacks.
While speaking on the occasion Arun Gupta expressed serious concern over the increasing terror attacks in Jammu region and termed it as a big conspiracy of our neighboring country Pakistan who is perturbed/ frustrated by the normalcy returning to UT of J&K and the peaceful and overwhelming participation of people in the recently concluded Parliamentary elections.
Gupta further said that though the security forces are working effectively on ground to eradicate the terrorism from its grass root level, there is urgent need to strengthen the security and other agencies keeping in view the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra and Machail Mata Yatra.
JCCI chief appealed to the general public as well as the business community to remain vigilant and do not get trapped in the nefarious designs of the anti national elements.
He also appealed to the business community including the hotel industry to offer reasonable discounts to the pilgrims/tourists on their shopping and hotel services, so that pilgrims while shopping in the markets and during their stay in the hotels feel homely atmosphere.
Gupta also appealed to the LG Administration to increase the number of registration counters so that the pilgrims coming from various states can get themselves registered without any difficulty.
During meeting the presidents of various Bazar Associations raised the issues related to Darbar Move, Traffic movement and Reharies stand in different bazaars.
A two-minute silence was observed to pay homage to the departed souls. Meeting also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured persons and also expressed sympathies with the bereaved families in this hour of grief.
