Chamber urges new GMC Principal to increase facilities

JAMMU, July 27: A delegation of Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by its president Arun Gupta and accompanied by Anil Gupta, senior vice president, Rajeev Gupta, junior vice president, Rajesh Gupta, secretary and Rajesh Gupta, treasurer met the newly appointed Principal of Government Medical College Jammu.
Arun Gupta congratulated the newly appointed Principal and apprised him that the people of Jammu have high hopes from him as he is already serving the people of Jammu and the people expect the best from him as the Principal of Medical College Jammu.
JCCI acknowledged that the emergency services of Medical College are working much above their installed capacity but hope that under his guidance and leadership the emergency services shall be further streamlined.
Gupta requested the Principal Government Medical College that similar emergency services should be started in Gandhi Nagar and Sarwal Hospital to minimize the load on the Government Medical College.
He also requested that HDU (High Dependency Unit) be started in Gandhi Nagar and Sarwal hospitals so that the patients from the different areas can get the emergency services in a better way in these Hospitals also.
He further said that as per the reports from different sectors, the nursing staff needs to be suitably increased to provide better services to the patients as are being provided in the private hospitals.
The Principal Government Medical College assured that he will definitely look into the suggestions made by the Chamber and ensure that better services are provided to the patients in the emergency wards and to cater the ever increasing rush of the patients in the emergency wards and if the need arises the emergency wards will be further augmented.
