JAMMU, Nov 21: Prominent social activist, philanthropist and religious preacher from Jammu, Baba Chanchal Singh today met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at New Delhi and discussed with him several issues concerning J&K, particularly youth of the State.
In the last one month, this was his fourth meeting with Rajnath Singh. During half an hour-long meeting, Baba Chanchal Singh drew attention towards issues of border inhabitants, economically backwards people and youth of the State.
He urged the Union Home Minister to issue necessary instructions to the Government authorities for giving special attention to youth of Jammu and Kashmir for engaging them in constructive activities by providing requisite facilities like sports items at every village and school level. Stressing that moral teaching and sports activities should be made compulsory at school level, he also submitted a memorandum listing a number of suggestions for character building among youth.
Baba Chanchal Singh said that on his request, the Union Home Minister assured to visit Jammu in forthcoming month of January for encouraging the initiatives with regard to engaging youth and peace process in the border State.
