KATHUA, Mar 13: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash during his maiden visit to the SIDCO Complex Ghati and Textile Park in Kathua, reiterated the Government’s resolve to promote a healthy environment for entrepreneurs to set up units and support industrial growth in the state.
The Minister said Government will take steps to ease off the difficulties for the entrepreneurs who are willing to come and invest in the State. He said an industry friendly atmosphere will be created albeit without compromising on the ecological and environmental aspects.
At SIDCO Industrial Area at Ghati, the Minister reviewed the progress on the development of amenities in the Industrial area. He also took stock of the progress made for the establishment of the proposed Biotechnology Park inside the SIDCO industrial area. General Manager, SIDCO, Vikram Gupta briefed the Minister about the initiatives taken for acquiring land and other clearances.
Later, the Minister also visited Textile Park in Kathua and took review of the progress made under the project. Under the project as many as 27 textile units will be opened in the park with all modern facilities.
The Minister also met the deputation of entrepreneurs and held detail discussions on the problems being faced by them during and after the establishment of industrial units.
Earlier, Minister conducted an extensive tour of Samba district and took stock of various developmental activities.
The Minister also convened a meeting with the officers at SIDCO Complex Samba, wherein he took a detailed review of the status of acquisition cases for the Industrial Growth Center Phase III and asked the concerned departments to work in coordination to expedite the acquisition process.
During the meeting executive members of Industrial Association Samba also raised various issues like providing better road connectivity, regular supply of electricity and water and other amenities for the development of industries in the area. Minister assured them that their genuine issues would be redressed accordingly.
Earlier, Chander Prakash inauguarted a BSNL tower at Ramgarh and also laid the foundation stone of the lane\drain works in Tarore village. He instructed the concerned authorities to ensure timely completion of the developmental projects with regular monitoring for quality checks.
MLA Samba Devinder Kumar Manyal, Secretary Industries and commerce Sourav Bhagat, ADC Samba, Inderjeet, M.D J&K SIDCO Kifayat Rizvi, GM SIDCO Vikram Gupta, GM DIC, Satish Sharma, besides officers of District Industrial Centre Samba and SIDCO were also present on the occasion.
