Don’t be afraid of change- it leads to a new beginning! It’s the new year. Do you need a new ‘YOU’? With each new year- comes new changes, big or small- whether we like it or not. One of life’s constant is change. Sometimes we love change, sometimes we don’t but it is inevitable. We grow- we age. Technology reinvents each new day. Some relish it – some resist it. Change for the sake of change is a risk- as it’s said ‘ the grass on the other side is not always greener’. But why is it difficult for most of us to change? Because we are pushed out of our comfort zone which becomes difficult for us to embrace. We have important 3 C’s of life- CHOICES, CHANCES, CHANGES. We must make a choice to take a chance or our life will never change.
Willingness to change makes it much easier. Reality is what we make it- it may be forced or chosen- our thinking makes the whole difference. If we think change is going to be tough, we will feel it, we will end up acting like it and then the change will end up exactly like we thought. On the other hand, if we feel positive, we will think something good can actually come out of this, we will end up with favourable results. Adapting to such a change becomes less stressful as we don’t focus on the discomfort of the unpredictable. WORRYING DOES NOT EMPTY TOMORROW OF ITS TROUBLE- IT EMPTIES TODAY OF IT’S STRENGTH!
It is not the strongest who survives but the INGENIOUS – who are more adaptable, quickly adjustable to new circumstances. The idea is to not only accept the change, but embrace it as an opportunity to EXPAND OURSELVES- OUR LIFE. It is that time of the year when we take stock of our lives. We celebrate what worked and we draw up plans for what we want to focus on. The challenge is- we often focus on fixing symptoms versus tackling the root cause of the problems. Our world is divided into two camps. Firstly, those who extract, use and trash things and secondly, who plant new possibilities, cultivate them and generate positive benefits. They can be called ‘CHASER’ and ‘CARETAKER’. We need to decide in which group we want to keep our minds on.
Change is good. It’s also often hard. The status quo can be so much more comfortable. But to succeed in life, we have to run towards it. Twenty years ago, we didn’t have an email address, but today it’s hard to imagine life without it. Ten years ago, we didn’t have facebook, and now millions of people are connected through it. Even though we might not be directly involved in technology industry, but it has played a major change in our growing industries. These changes mean we have to change. Progress is impossible without change. And those who cannot change their minds, cannot change anything.
Just because past didn’t turn out like what we wanted, it doesn’t mean future cannot be better. We just need to thrive towards it with positive change. Every time we subtract negatives from our lives, we make rooms for more positives. To create social change in the world, we must understand who we are as individuals, what we stand for and what we are going to create through our own actions. The key to change is to live a creative life and living a creative life means to be JUST YOURSELF. Is there anything more worthy to do than this?
IT TAKES ONLY ONE PERSON TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE- YOU!
We have to focus on the quality of our life. We need to change the context of our lives and not just the content. We change our clothes, our looks, but that doesn’t change our innerself. Question is not but what we do and what we do not do. It is about ‘HOW WE DO’ – this changes life. Our life wouldn’t get better by chance, it would improve by change. We need to make an effort. If we do not go after what we want, we will never have it. If we never ask for something, the answer will always be no. We need to take a stand and make an effort to change our lives and make it more meaningful.
” Use your smile to change the world, don’t let this world change your smile.”
