KATRA, Apr 17: Terming Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) as the root cause of discrimination with Jammu youth in employment, Panthers Party’s State president, Balwant Singh Mankotia today asserted for making change in its nomenclature.
Mankotia said that in a deliberate move by the successive regimes in the State, employment avenues to the educated youth of Jammu region was shrinked and thin presence in the administration is the proof of this mass discrimination.
He was speaking during a rally at Katra in Reasi district, where Haq-insaaf yatra started by Panthers Party reached today on 17th day. While addressing rallies at Katra, Panthal and Kadmal, Balwant Singh Mankotia said less representation was given to the educated youth of Jammu region in administrative services.
“Since independence, undue favour was given to Kashmir region while youth of Jammu region remain neglected and only has 20 percent employees while Kashmir has given 80 percent employment”, he added.
Mankotia blamed that since 1947, conspiracy was hatched with patriotic educated youth of Jammu region with the nomenclature of Kashmir Administrative Services while its name should be changed with Jammu Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) to end discrimination.
Panther Party president demanded that to end discrimination with Jammu region in employment, there should be two administrative services one represented by Kashmir and other by Jammu region so that youth of this region can get equal share in employment.
