Channelizing Poonch river

Sir,
Since the dawn of Independence, Poonch river has witnessed many ups and downs. Floods of 1959,1999 and 2014 are still fresh in the memories of our people. Hundreds acres  of land was washed away due to these unprecedented floods. A huge chunk of population was uprooted. In spite of assurances from high ups-politicians, bureaucrats, local administration etc till date, nothing substantial has been done. Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge which was severely damaged during the disaster of Sept 2014  has not been repaired yet.
I would like to suggest that Poonch river right from Police Lines up to Azad Mohalla be channelized in such a way that a concrete boundary wall be constructed so that current of flood water goes in a smooth manner without causing any damage to the land and masses. Technical opinion for raising the protection wall be sought and work be allotted to such agency who is quite fair and square in its dealings. At least five to  six more spans be erected for Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge so that embankment work gets some fruitful results and the bridge becomes functional at the earliest possible time for connection Poonch town with rest of the district.
Yours etc…
