Channi Himmat residents resent illegal land use change

JAMMU, Nov 21: A meeting of Channi Himmat Residents Association was held under the chairmanship of its president V.K Grover in which participating members expressed anguish over illegal land use change by many people in the area in violation of covenants of Lease Deed executed by them at time of allotment.
They said that plots in Channi Himmat Housing Colony were allotted for construction of Residential Houses and by virtue of covenants of lease deed no other activities except construction of dwelling houses was permitted. Moreover, there was no provision for land use change permission by Housing Board or any other Government or Semi Government Authority.
But with passage of time some people have started converting their allotted premises for commercial purposes making the colony unfit for residential purpose due to frequent traffic jams, thefts and other such problems.
Residents of Channi Himmat Housing Colony have appealed the LG to direct J&K Housing Board and Jammu Municipal Corporation to stick to their own rules, regulations, guidelines and law in this regard and take strict action so that a clear message is passed to the violators of covenants of Lease Deed.
