There is urgent need to restore order on National Highway as it causes great inconvenience to commuters particularly those who live all along the route from Banihal to Udhampur. The long traffic jams lasting for hours together not only waste precious time of people, but also consumes lot of fuel of vehicles while plying on the road at a slow speed.
Most miserable are the patients who need urgent medical checkup. Once they get stuck in jams there is no end to their ordeal. Likewise, employees hailing from Banihal to Udhampur have to go through excruciating experience, as they can’t attend their offices well in time.
The traffic on this road got further chaotic during recent rains and floods in the State. Large stretches of it got washed away.
Therefore, it becomes necessary that police along with traffic police find a mechanism which will help in redressing this problem for ever. Though Mughal road is sharing the burden, it has not yet become a viable option for people.
