Charak for immediate end to flood, firing victims problems

JAMMU, Oct 13: An emergent meeting of Block Congress Committee Bishnah and its units of frontal organizations was held today in which Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and former Member CWC-AICC participated as chief guest.
The meeting was presided over by its President which was largely attended by Congress leaders from all over the Constituency including Sarpanchs, Panchs, Numberdars, Chowkidars and other prominent persons to deliberate upon the prevailing alarming situation created due to the recent rains, floods and continuous shelling from across the border due to which many people have lost their lives and have suffered heavy losses.
Various leaders throwing light on the present surcharged atmosphere due to the natural calamity and continuous heavy shelling said that the people of this constituency have suffered huge loss of their lives and property and the insufficient arrangements have added to their miseries as a result of which they are leading a miserable life. The education system of the children have totally shattered, houses have been damaged/destroyed, health care system is in shambles, youths are frustrated being over-aged and having been jobless etc. They demanded the redressal of their grievances at the earliest.
Addressing the gathering, Gulchain Singh Charak dealt with all the issues in detail and said that we are thankful to State Government for taking some decisions to eradicate the sufferings of the most deserving people of this area but regretted that various crucial issues have been left out as per news appeared in the Press.
He urged the Government to immediately concede the demands raised by the speakers so that proper justice is done to the public. He also appreciated the efforts of the local Congress leaders who are doing their concerted efforts by raising these problems with State Government and had visited Delhi in a strong delegation comprising of 40 members and held meetings with the then Union Home Minister of India, Union Defence Minister of India, Information and Broadcasting Minister of India, several other senior politicians and Government officials there and were even able to get some the important issues resolved, be it be granting Tehsil status, Block and Niabat to Arnia and accepting other demands at their level.
