Charges framed against Revenue officials

JAMMU, Sept 20: Additional District & Sessions Judge, Anti Corruption Rajouri Mehmood Chowdhary has framed charges against Abdul Qayoom, the then Naib Tehsildar Rajouri (now Tehsildar Mankote), Maqsood-Ul- Hassan, the then Patwari Patwar Halqa Gambhir Mughlan (now retired) and beneficiaries Mohd Sain, Mohd Shafi, Mohd Bashir, sons of Abass Ali and Mohd Yaqoob, son of Sher Dil, all residents of Kotli Kalaban, Tehsil Manjakote.
The allegation against the Abdul Qayoom and Maqsood Ul Hasan was that they had attested the mutation in favour of beneficiaries Mohd Bashir and other sons and also in favour of Mohd Yaqoob under Cabinet Order No. LB-6 and S-432 by showing the possession of beneficiaries/encroacher since 1957-58 upon the forest land at Kotli Kalaban thereby cause wrongful loss to the Government exchequer and committed an offence of conspiracy as defined in Section 5(1)(d) read with Section 5(2) of PC Act and Section 466/467/120-B RPC.
After hearing both the sides, court observed, “the material available on record prima-facie established involvement of the accused in the commission of offence”. Accordingly, the court framed the charge.
