Chargesheet produced against three accused in Rs 10 lakh insurance fraud

JAMMU, Apr 24: Cyber Police Jammu has filed charge sheet against three accused in Rs 10 lakh Insurance Cyber fraud case in time bound manner.
As per police sources, on January 16 this year, a written complaint was lodged by a person namely Maidul Islam that he was defrauded by some unknown fraudsters who pretended themselves as employees from Max Insurance Company and allured the complainant by offering him bonus amount. Subsequently, they convinced the complainant to deposit fee to claim the due insurance bonus and eventually duped the complainant with an approximate amount of Rs 10 lakh in multiple transactions.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 4/2021 was registered at Cyber Police Station Jammu and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, Investigating Officer under the supervision of SP Cyber Naresh Singh with the help of technical evidences and leads succeeded in identifying and locating the accused involved in the fraud and subsequently arrested them on February 24, 2021 from Bijnor Uttar Pradesh. All the three arrested accused are presently in judicial custody.
The accused arrested were identified as Mohammad Gulsher, son of Iddu of Village Gopalpur District Bijnor Uttar Pradesh, Vikas, son of Munish of Village Simla District Bijnor Uttar Pradesh and Dilshad, son of Rahishu Din of Mohiuddinpur District Bijnor Uttar Pradesh.
The chargesheet is produced by the team headed by DySP Cyber Priyanka Kumari, Investigation Officer Inspector Manoj Gupta and Inspector Vikram Sharma of Cyber Police Station. Further Investigation is still going on into the case to nab other associate and ascertain involvement in other cyber fraud cases.
