‘Charity’ by leaders

Sir,
A large section of citizens is unaware of the essence of political rights in our democracy. At the same time many people feel helpless given the poor economic status owing to evils like corrutpion, mal-administration and neglest on the part of Government. In this scenario, many people fall prey to neo-ways of slavery designed by teh so called leaders. We read daily inthe papers that some Mr X goes to a family and distributes blankets, shawls etc. Another Mr Y gets his pic publicized in which he is seen giving away sewing machines, clothes, etc. Still another Miss Z is seen giving a cheque to a middle aged head of family so that he or she can get the daughter married or giving a sac of rice to “help the poor”. Sometimes this help is extended by those who asre or where having hands in public pocke,t other times, by those who are in run up. Whatsoever, these are new tools of covert slavery too. Like Zamindary system of medieval time, this form of help has every potential to create’ powerdary system’ (sattadary) in the political aspect of our society of these days. They are doing investments to maintain their influence without any merit. Need is to be aware of these designs and their consequences for cherished goals in the constitution.
Yours etc…
