Charlie Sheen wants USD 10 million for memoir?

NEW YORK, Dec 4: Former “Two and a half Men” star Charlie Sheen has reportedly demanded USD 10 million for his memoir.

The 50-year-old actor, who last month revealed he is HIV positive, has been flaunting the idea of a memoir to several publishers but some have baulked at the huge sum, with one insisting that because much of his life is lived in the public eye there cannot be a lot we don’t know, reported the New York Post.

A major publishing house veteran, who did not wish to be named in case his company took on the book, said “When Charlie starred in ‘Two and a Half Men’, it was a funny comedy, but the idea of USD 10 million is even funnier.

“So much of his life has played out in public, and so much is sordid – in this case there may be too much information. What’s left to find out?”

The actor – who has previously claimed he has poetry in his “fingertips” – may not have to wait much time for a book deal though as he’s reportedly been inundated with offers.

Publisher Judith Regan has expressed an interest, saying, “I would like to publish his autobiography as an epic poem.”

Last week, it was reported that Charlie’s manager Mark Burg has been “buried with offers” from publishers who are desperate for the ‘Anger Management’ star to tell his colourful life story.

The actor revealed he was diagnosed with HIV four years ago and now hopes going public with his diagnosis will help reduce the stigma surrounding the disease. (PTI)
