Cheat held after 3 yrs

JAMMU, Nov 21: Police here arrested a cheat after three years from New Delhi.
A handout of police stated that on May 16, 2019, a complaint was lodged at Police Station, Trikuta Nagar by one Jagdish Raj Sharma son of Paramanand Sharma of Shanti Nagar, Janipur that one Saleem Qureshi son of Hanief Qureshi resident of Bavli Road, Patti Chaudaran, Baraut Distt. Bhagpat (UP) had cheat him of Rs. 70,00,000.
The complainant said that he has a business of fruit at Fruit Mandi, Narwal and in the month of September 2015 the accused Saleem Qureshi came to him at his shop in Narwal with proposal to purchase fruits from him in bulk for selling at wholesale fruit markets outside J&K.
Initially the accused made some payments but when the balance amount accumulated to Rs. seventy lakh he started avoiding phone calls and stopped coming to J&K besides threatening Sharma of life if he dare to visit Baraut, UP.
After this Sharma approached police and a case in FIR number 137/19 U/S 420/506 RPC was registered at P/S Trikuta Nagar on May, 2019.
During investigation, police teams were deputed to Baraut many times but the cheat could not be traced. This time, special police team was constituted by SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli which was led by PSI Adarsh Thakur was deputed to Baraut to nab the cheat.
The police team conducted raids at different places and finally the accused was apprehended from the AOR of P/S Mundka, Delhi.
The accused has been remanded to police custody after his arrest was made by police team led by PSI Adarsh Thakur under the guidance of Inspector Deepak Pathania under the supervision of Sajjad Sarwar, SDPO City East Jammu and Deepak Digra, SP City South Jammu.
