Cheat stealing money from ATM nabbed

POONCH, May 4: The police  arrested  a cheat when he was stealing money from an ATM by duping a local villager here today.
The police after receiving certain complaints of similar nature for the last few weeks,  deployed some cops in civil around the ATMs installed in the town. Today, when the accused duped a villager and exchanged his ATM card while helping  him in taking out money, the police party nabbed him. Rs 34,000 cash was recovered from him which he had managed to withdraw from villager’s account.
Identified as 24-year-old Liaqat Ali, son of  Mohd Sharief, resident of  Jallas Bhera (near LoC), the police nabbed the accused and received  5 ATM cards from his possession besides money of the people stolen by deceiving them.  He used to stay around ATMs, waiting for his prey.  On finding innocent villagers, unable to operate the Machine, he used to offer help and exchange their ATM card with his fake one. This way, he used to deceive the people. The police registered a case FIR No. 57/ 2013 against him and started  investigation.
