It is nice to read that the health wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is checking adulteration in food items particularly milk products. However, one is sceptical whether this once in a blue moon approach is going to yield any result. In case the JMC wants that people live on unadulterated food, it should launch sustained campaign in this regard. Besides, it should cover even rural limits coming under its purview. Besides, those who will be found indulging in this unholy practice should be heavily penalised so that adulterators would desist from doing this dirty job.
The JMC should procure latest equipment to ensure that unscrupulous traders do not go scot free taking advantage of old machinery with JMC.
Most of the disease today are a result of adulterated food items in the market. From Vegetables to fruits to milk products every thing is adulterated as adulteration helps them in making a fast buck.
