JAMMU, Feb 22: Department of Pediatrics in collaboration with J & K Thalassemia Welfare Society, held two days annual checkup camp for Thalassemia patients in SMGS Hospital Jammu.
The camp was inaugurated by Principal of GMC Jammu, Prof Ashutosh Gupta in presence of Superintendent SMGS Hospital Dr Dara Singh & Dr. K. Koul.
More than 120 Thalassemic patients were examined during these two days. Dr V P Choudhary, Hematologist, former HoD Hematology, AIIMS New Delhi and Dr J S Arora, Thalassemialogist and General Secretary National Thalassemia Welfare Society, examined these patients. Dr Esha Moza from Canada, Dental Surgeon, examined these patients for their dental issues and also donated Rs one lakh to the Thalassemia Welfare Society.
J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society, led by its President Er Sudhir Sethi, General Secy Rajinder Pathak, Treasurer Puneet Gandotra honoured Dr V P Choudhary, Dr Madhu Choudhary, Dr J S Arora and Dr Esha Moza for their services for Thalassemia patients of Jammu & Kashmir.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Digra, Professor Pediatrics and Coordinator Thalassemia Day Care Center, SMGS Hospital; Dr Ravi Parihar, Associate Professor Pediatrics; Dr Sanjana Sharma, Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, coordinated the smooth organization of this camp. Dr Aliya, Medical Officer, Nursing and other staff of Thalassemia Day Care Center, SMGS Hospital: Madhu Bala, Malti Sharma, Anita Rani, Sugandi, Isha, Rita, assisted in successful organization of this health checkup camp.
