Chenab Power Project Workers Union discusses demands

KISHTWAR, Mar 10: A general meeting of Chenab Power Projects Workers Union district Kishtwar was held today under the chairmanship of Joginder Bhandari  where various demands related to the absorption of youths in Rattle Hydroelectric Power Project Drabshalla were  discussed at length.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Hussain Shah, vice chairman of the union urged upon the State Government to ask the management of M/S GVK Energy Limited to engage 80 percent local un-employed youths  of district Kishtwar in the said projects as per the MoU.
Farooq Ahmed Tapal, president of the union demanded that one member of each family whose land has come under the alignment of the said project should be absorbed in JKPDC .
Joginder Bhandari, chairman of the union, strongly criticized  the management of GVK and its sub contractor L&T for engaging persons from out side the State in Rattle Power Project, Drabshalla, ignoring the local un-employed youths. He demanded removal of all such engaged workers who had been appointed from out side the State in the said Project.
Those who spoke on the occasion included Mohd Amin Butt, Ramesh Rana, Mohd Khalil Tapal, Gh Mohd Bagwan and others.
