KISHTWAR, Oct 19: Chenab Valley Welfare Forum held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Joginder Bhandari.
While speaking, Joginder Bhandari, criticized the management of M/s GVK Energy Limited for providing civil contract in Rattle Hydro Electric Project, Drabshalla to some politically influential contractors thereby ignoring the local contractors of the district.
Bhandari also urged the Chief Minister to hand over the execution of Rattle Hydro Electric Project, Drabshalla, to any other Multi National Company as M/s GVK Energy Limited has failed to provide employme to the local unemployed youths.
He alleged that the manpower engaged in the project by the contractors was not being provided safety like equipments, EPF, medical allowances, risk cover, labour sheds, etc.
Joginder urged the Labour Commissioner to visit the work site and take stock of the situation.
