CHENNAI: Ahead of the first ODI against Australia on September 17, all eyes at the historic M A Chidambaram Stadium was on the 22-yard strip, which Indian Vice Captain Rohit Sharma reckons would be a high scoring affair.
Talking to the media before the Indian team hit the ground for nets, Rohit Sharma said it was typical Chennai wicket.
”I just had a glance when I was walking by. It looks a typical Chennai wicket…Good, hard wicket with plenty of runs on the board.” ”It will be a high-scoring game, I think”, Rohit said.
”We will get to know more when we start training and have a closer look”, Rohit Sharma said.
It would be a high scoring game, he said. This would be the second ODI between India and Australia to be played here.
It was the first time in 30 years Australia and India would be meeting in a ODI at Chepauk.
The earlier both the teams met was in 1987 Reliance World Cup, which India lost narrowly.(AGENCIES)
