Chetna March of Banda Singh Bahadur reaching today

JAMMU, Apr 9: The Chetna March of Banda Singh Bahadur will reach here tomorrow evening. The Yatra will be given a tumultuous reception by members of Sikh community  drawn from different parts of the State at Kunjwani here .
This was disclosed at a press conference by Brig (retd) S S Saini convener of the Swagat Committee of the Chetna March and Virenderjit Singh its co-convener and chairman of National Sikh Front.
They said the yatra, which started from Rohtak Haryana on April 5 after covering Punjab and Noorpur in Himachal Pradesh will reach here tomorrow. The yatra has been taken out in connection with completion of 300 years of Dera at Reasi which was established by Banda Singh Bahadur during his lifetime.
The march will be received with bursting of crackers, beating of drums and showering of flowers.
The Chetana March will then proceed to Gurudwara Nanak Dev Ji Chand Nagar here where after a night halt it will leave for Reai on the morning of April 11. The main feature of this march will be that the arms of Banda Singh Bahadur will also be brought to the state in a specially decorated vehicle for the darshan of the people.
The Sikhs of the state take lot of pride in Banda Singh Bhadur as he belonged to Rajouri town of J&K and was the first Sikh who established his kingdom in Punjab and became the first ruler form the community even before Maharaja Ramjet Singh.
He also established the first Nanak Shahi coin in Punjab.
The Swagat Committee has made an appeal to Sikh Sangat to reach in large numbers at Kunjwani to welcome the Chetna March.
