JAMMU, Mar 30: A delegation of Chhamb Displaced Persons Association-1971 met the Chief Secretary of the UT of J&K and discussed the issues of the refugees.
Led by S R Nagial, president of the Association, the delegation during meeting last evening requested the Chief Secretary for getting the period extended in implementation of `One Time Settlement Scheme’ announced by the Central Government in favour of Displaced Persons of 1947 (POJK) and Chhamb Displaced Persons of 1965-71 (Camp and Non-Camp), for a period of one year.
Dr Mehta listened patiently and assured the delegation to take up the issue at the higher level.
