JAMMU, Dec 18: A team of Chhamb displaced persons of 1971 headed by SR Nagial, president, Chhamb Displaced Person’s (DPs) Association of 1965/1971, visited all the Basties of 1971 DPs in tehsil Akhnoor and impressed upon them to vote for the Congress candidate, Sham Lal Sharma.
The team alleged that Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for PHE, was the one who had always taken up the cause of the Chhamb Displaced Persons of 1965/1971 with the State as well as Central Government. “It was Sham Lal Sharma who persuaded the State Cabinet to pass financial package for all the DPs, needless to say that he has done all round development in his constituency in all respects”, the team asserted.
While explaining to the DPs, Nagial informed that the State Government had forwarded the financial package to the Government of India, which in turn returned it to delay the process unnecessarily.
All the DPs assured the association president that they will vote and support Sham Lal Sharm, who is a bold leader.
