Chhari Mubarak, on way to holy cave, reaches Sheshnag

PAHALGAM: The ” Chhari Mubarak”, the holy silver Mace of Lord Shiva, reached Sheshnag, the second halting station on traditional route to the holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.
The Silver Mace, after having halts at different stations en-route, will finally enter the holy cave on August 26, when the annual 60-day-long pilgrimage will conclude after day-long puja.
” Bam Bam Bolay” and “Har Har Mahadev” rented in the air when the Chhari, carried by Mahanat Deependra Giri, left Chandanwari, the first halting station on the route. The Mace had reached Chandanwari yesterday after having two night halt at Phalgam, where it had reached on August 20 from Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar.
The Chhari will leave Sheshnag early Friday morning to reach Panjterni, where it will leave for Panchtarni on August 26 morning.

After day-long puja inside the cave, the Mace will start return journey shortly after sunset. With this the annual yatra will conclude though age old traditional associated with the pilgrimage will be preformed at Pahalgam before reaching Deshnami Akhara. (AGENCIES)
