Chhari Pujan  performed, holy Mace to be taken to cave by air

SRINAGAR: Chhari Pujan, associated with annual pilgrimage to the holy Amarnath Cave shrine in south Kashmir was performed on Saturday evening at Shri Amareshwar temple, Dashnami Akhara near here.

Unlike other years, the Chhari Mubarak- the holy Mace of Lord Shiva continues to remain in the Amareshwar temple as this year’s Amarnath yatra has been cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic. Usually the Chhari Mubarak is taken by Sadhus on foot to the holy cave shrine for final pujan and darshan on the Rakshabandan day.

This year the Chhari Mubarak would be transferred via air to the holy cave for final pujan. (AGENCIES)
