JAMMU, July 16: The 19th Chhari Yatra of Mata Chamunda Devi Ji has been flagged off today from Rameshwar Mandhir, Pacca Talab, Bahu Fort to Sarvadhar, Pogal Paristan, Ramban.
The flagging off ceremony was performed by Ishant Gupta, J&K BJP Incharge for Information Technology Department in presence of the organizers Rajeev Charak, president Bahu Fort Development Committee (BFDC); Baldevraj Nargotra, chairman; general secretary, Raghav Mahajan; vice presidents, Krishan Lal Sharma and Anuradha Charak and Bahadur Lal, president Sayara Sabbha.
The Yatra commenced with traditional Pooja and was participated by hundreds of Yatris from Jammu following COVID SOPs.
Pilgrims from Ramban, Doda, Bhaderwah etc will also accompany the Yatra.
Speaking on the occasion, Ishant Gupta said such Yatras promote the message of brotherhood.
He asked all the Yatris to follow all COVID SOPs during the pilgrimage.
Addressing the gathering Rajeev Charak appealed J&K LG to assure regular basic necessities like electricity, drinking water and shelter to Yatris and this pilgrimage place in Ramban should be developed as a tourist and pilgrimage spot.
Baldev Raj Nargotra and Bahadur Lal also spoke on the occasion while the prominent among those present on the occasion were Darshan Kumar, Sanjeev Manhas, Ashwani Sharma, Raghunandan Charak, Ankush Khajuria, Bharti Sagotra, Shallu Devi, Parshotam Lal, Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Raj, Kastoori Lal, Deep Raj, Darshan Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Rajinder Singh, Vinod Khokker and others.
