Chhari Yatra to leave for Sudhmahadev tomorrow

JAMMU, June 20: The 6th Chhari Yatra will leave from here to Sudhmahadev in Udhampur district on June 22. This was stated by members of Sudhmahadev Chhari Yatra Samiti including Narinder Sharma, Ram Magotra, Rajesh Behal, Ritu Chowdhary, Raj Kumar Sodhi, Radika Gupta and Pandit Sahil Sharma during a press conference held at ancient Panjbakhtar Temple here, today.
They said that the Sudhmahadev temples have the reference in religious books like Padam Puran and Shiv Puran. Mantalai is a place where Lord Shiva has performed some rituals of marriage with Mata Parvati. One can have darshan of exact place where the Baraat was served by the King Himavat, father of Mata Parvati. The Trident (Trishul) of Lord Shiva is still there in temple with which he killed the demon, Sudanshu, they added.
The Samiti members aid that Chhari Pujan will be held on June 21 at 11am at Panjbakhtar temple and Chhari Yatra will start from temple premises next day at 6-30 am. The Chhari will be carried by Swami Damodar Dass Ji Maharaj of Varindavan. On way to holy shrine of Sudhmahadev Chhari Pujan will be performed at Shiv temple, Dhok Waziran, Nagrota, Devika temples, Udhampur, Toldi Nallah, Chenani town, Gouri Kund and finally at Sudhmahadev temple.
The Samiti appealed to all Jammuites and devotees of Lord Shiva who want to accompany Chhari Yatra to register themselves in Panjbakhtar Mandir, Jammu between 6 to 8pm daily before yatra.
They said that at Shul Paneshwar Temple Sudhmahadev, Chhari Pujan will be performed on June 22 at 2-45 pm and it will return towards Jammu on 4-30 pm on the same day.
