Chhewang visits border villages

ChumUr (Ladakh),  Oct 2: On fourth day of Changthang tour Thupstan Chhewang MP visited Chumur Gonpa, village Chumur Observing Point (OP) and Indo-Sino border areas. He interacted with the people of Chumur village and discussed about the state of developments at border area.
After giving a detail hearing to the border living people regarding Chinese threats and properties lost including horses and yaks  to China Thupstan Chhewang announced to build Permanent Structured Houses for local nomads of Chumur and Demjok. He also announced to build permanent roads to Nilung of Demjok Phu, Chumur Phu, Completion of Irrigation Canals from Demjok Chutsan to Demjok village and Tatla Thang in Chumur and to install Mobile Towers at Demjok and Chumur.
The MP also inspected the areas where recent tension took place and interacted with ITBP & ITPF personnel posted at Chumur borders. He has taken up detail reports and encouraged the Indian troops posted at border to face the incursions bravery and defeat the Chinese threats as Indian Army did recently.
In Korzok village people put up their demands including Mobile Tower, Medical Aids Center at Tegazong, Sarai Puga-Sumdho, Store Rooms, Demjok Phu for Nomadic People of Tegazong and Link Roads. In his public speech at Korzok Thupstan Chhewang announced Rs.44 crore for Sumdho to Korzok Road under PMGSY and Rs.30 crores for Pashmina was granted by Central Government.
During his tour he also visited Puga-Sumdha, Angkung, Thukjay, Samat and Rubsho-Kharnak villages and hamlets.
People submitted their representation and demands including Installation of Mobile Towers, Solar Power Plants, Medical Aids Centers etc.
While taking the public representation Thupstan Chhewang advised the people to stress on Education, Health and Economic developments to live a happy life.
