Chib asks farmers to use latest technology to boost production

JAMMU, Aug 23: The Vice Chairman J&K Advisory Board for Development of Kissans Daljit Singh Chib held a open public darbars of the farmers in Chasana and Sungri of district Reasi today and listened the problems being faced by the farmers.
He also interacted with a large gathering of farmers at Bagga and Sarh in the district.
The officers of Agric-ulture, Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry besides the prominent people were also present during the public darbars.
The progressive farmers raised the issue of Kissan Credit Cards which are presently pending with the banks.
The farmers also demanded that the more and more awareness needed to be provided regarding Prime Minister’s Fasal Bhima Yojna by holding farmers camps. They also demanded mettaling of road from Reasi to Mahore so that the people do not face problems in future.
Chib assured the people that he will personally look into all the problems. He urged the farmers to take maximum benefits of farmers friendly schemes launched by the State and Central Governments and also use the latest agriculture technology to boost their production.
Laying stress on research work to use the hybrid varieties of fruit and vegetables, Chib said focus needs to be given on agro based industry which has got tremendous potential for employment generation that needs to be exploited through entrepreneurship development initiatives kick started by present coalition in the State.
The Vice Chairman of the Board also stressed on importance of modern machinery and inputs and said this can’t be ignored as it changed the destiny of farmers. He also appealed the farming community to adopt the natural and organic farming to earn much more from their agriculture produce.
Chib said with the intervention of Kissan Board the procurement Centres were established in Jammu province with the coordination of FCI.
