Chib asks Irrigation Deptt to ensure speedy cleaning of canal

JAMMU, May 29:  A delegation from  village Matto tehsil  Khour met with Vice Chairman of J&K State Advisory Board For Development of Kisans, Daljit Singh Chib at Jourian and informed him about their problems due non clearance of canal from village Matto towards Dhatyal and Bhopar.
The  delegation told Vice Chairman about the worst condition of canal from Matto towards Dhatyal and Bhopar due to which farmers are facing many problems in  sowing  Paddy crop  in their villages as proper water is not available to them. Taking the cognisance of the matter Chib himself visited to banks of  canal from Matto towards Dhatyal and Bhoper.
He was astonished to see the worst condition of canal as no proper cleaning has been done during its annual restoration.
Then vice chairman contacted the concerned department and gave instructions to the department that quick and immediate steps  be taken to clean up the canal within a stipulated period of time, so that the farmers of these villages cannot suffer and can sow their paddy  crop on time.
He  also assured the people that  appropriate measures and proper check will be  conducted by the  Government to solve the problems faced by the people and the cleaning of canal will be done within the fixed period of time so that farmers can sow  their paddy  crop  on time .
