SUCHETGARH, Sept 5: The 26th Death Anniversary of Shaheed Ramesh Lal was today observed at his native village, Kaloen (Suchetgarh).
A large number people paid rich tribute to the martyr. Sepoy Ramesh Lal laid down his life on September 5, 1998, in Poonch while fighting militants.
R S Chib, former Minister was the chief guest on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, he described Sepoy Ramesh Lal of the 8th Dogra Battalion as a brave soldier who attained martyrdom at a young age while defending the motherland.
He said, “The nation is proud of our defense and paramilitary forces, who are defending our frontiers and borders.”
Chib appreciated the role of the civilian population residing along the IB/LoC, who maintain close cooperation with our security forces and appealed the youth to come forward and join the defense forces of our country to serve the nation.
