JAMMU, Dec 21: Saying that all round development of border areas was recieving focused attention of the Government, Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports R S Chib today said that various prestigious developmental projects are underway in Border Tehsil R S Pura for augmentation of social infrastructure.
The Minister, who was on one day extensive tour of Border Tehsil R S Pura, said while addressing a series of public meetings.
The Minister said that R S Pura- Suchetgarh road would be upgraded to provide better connectivity to the people of the area, adding that vital road links including Badyal Qaizian- Baja Chak via Mukhdoomi and Kotli Mian Fateh- Mehmoodpur are also being constructed under NABARD.
During the tour, the Minister visited New Basti, Gulab Garh, Fatehpur, Chak Sheikhan, Chak Pehian, and inspected development works being executed in the area under various schemes . He also inspected pace of work on Fatehpur-Chak Sheikhan, Tibba Pehian- Baja Chak and Bhoma- Gharani road projects. He directed the concerned executing agencies to accelerate the pace of work to ensure timely completion.
Responding to demands of the locals, the Minister said, besides installation of new transformers, existing transformers would be replaced by augmented capacity transformers for improving the power scenario of the area. He said the issue of tarrif free power supply for pump sets meant for irrigation purpose would be looked into. As many as 20 High Mast Lights would also be installed at major places of various villages of the border Tehsil.
Later, the Minister visited Bana Singh Stadium and took stock of the construction work for which an amount of Rs. 50 lakh has been allocated.
Mr. Chib directed the executing agency for early completion of the project by utilizing quality material.
