JAMMU, Dec 28: Jal Shakti Department of J&K government has appointed Manoj Gupta, Chief Engineer, I&FC Jammu as Inquiry Officer to enquire into the charges framed against S. Sarwan Singh, the then Executive Engineer PHE Division Rajouri.
Apart from this Adarsh Kumar Kalsotra, Executive Engineer, PHE Division Rajouri is appointed as Presiding Officer in the case.
As per a government order the Inquiry Officer shall conduct an exhaustive enquiry and submit report along with specific recommendations to the government within 30 days from the date of issuance of the order.
It is pertinent to mention here that GAD on August 19, 2020 received a communication from Anti-Corruption Bureau and recommended Regular Departmental Action against Sarwan Singh.
Accordingly on 31.12.2020 Manish Kumar Bhat, the then Chief Engineer PHE Jammu was appointed as Inquiry Officer to enquire charges framed against S. Sarwan Singh but Bhat was placed under suspension on 27.07.2022 and now Manoj Gupta, Chief Engineer, I&FC Jammu has been appointed as new Inquiry Officer.
