LEH, Aug 26: The Chief Engineer Construction and Survey Northern Railway Harpal Singh, Chief Engineer East Central Railway Alok Kumar along with Deputy Chief Engineer Northern Railway called on Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal at Council Secretariat Leh today and briefed him about the ongoing survey of Bilaspur-Manali-Leh Rail Line.
CEC Wangyal, while meeting with the engineers, said that after granting UT for Ladakh, now laying of a railway line for Ladakh will be historic for Ladakhi people and hoped that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the dream of this lifeline shall become reality within the shortest possible time.
Till the Bilaspur-Leh Railway line is completed, CEC Wangyal urged the Chief Engineer to initiate works on an internal railway circuit within Leh connecting Upshi to Phey along the Indus River.
