Chief PMG (CC) JK & Ladakh calls on CS, briefs welfare schemes

JAMMU, Feb 13: Chief Postmaster General (CC) J&K and Ladakh, Col Vinod Kumar today called on Chief Secretary of J&K Atal Dulloo at Civil Secretariat, here and explained various welfare schemes for the people.
The main focus of the meeting was to highlight plenty of schemes being offered by Department of Posts, especially India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) which has emerged as a big relief in the field of digital payment and through this people of J&K can pay their electricity bills, mobile bills, transfer funds, etc while sitting at home.
Col Kumar told Dulloo that IPPB provides users to withdraw unlimited times per month without incurring fees in regular and digital savings accounts. Also IPPB holders do not have to keep a minimum balance account to avoid a hefty penalty charged by other financial institutions, he added.
He said that Doorstep Banking (DSB) is also being provided by IPPB for regular banking transactions for public. “The service is available to all citizens in every district, town and village across the country. One can open a bank account, transfer funds, deposit and withdraw cash, recharge or pay bills, buy life insurance and general insurance and accomplish much more with our DSB facility at nominal charges.
The Chief Secretary was also briefed about progress in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. He was also briefed on Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance, which requires low premium and provide high bonus.
On the occasion, Col Vinod presented Postal Life Insurance calendar to the Chief Secretary. Dulloo advised the chief PMG to coordinate with senior officers of different departments and expand the financial and postal services of J&K.
