JAMMU, June 4: An eight-year-old boy drowned today in an underground water tank in Sanjay Nagar area of city outskirts.
“Raj Kumar (8), son of Satish Kumar, drowned in an underground water tank at his rented accommodation in Sanjay Nagar, where the labourer family was living for some time,” a police official said. He said it is a matter of investigation as to how the child drowned in the water tank.
The body was fished out and after postmortem, handed over to its legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated in this connection at police station Gandhi Nagar.
