DODA, Mar 25: Timely action by Childline Doda prevented an attempt to solemnise the marriage of a minor girl in District Kishtwar after a whistleblower alerted the officials.
As per the officials, telephonic information was received on toll free number 1098 by Coordinator Childline Doda Meenakshi Raina.
The Childline team Doda brought the matter to the notice of Additional Deputy Commissioner and Director Childline and also forwarded the information to Chairperson and Members of District Child Welfare Committee (DCWC) Kishtwar.
The swift and timely action prevented the marriage of the girl which was being solemnised in District Kishtwar.
The girl child was produced before DCWC Kishtwar and later put in non institutional care of her parents.
The counselling of girl child and her parents was also done.
