Children Poetry Book in Punjabi released

JAMMU, Apr 6: A book of Punjabi poetry for children, titled ‘Mitraan Naal Baharaan’ written by Balwinder Singh Jammu was released by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS) here today during a function at Writers’ Club.
Padamshri Jitender Udhampuri, renowned writer was chief guest on this occasion whereas Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, former Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) presided over the function.
Balwinder Singh, well known Punjabi writer, Ratan Singh Kanwal, Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi, JKAACL and Dr. Baljit Singh Raina, president, PLS-J were also present on the presidium.
The programme was attended by various intellectuals, writers, scholars and students of Jammu University and others.
Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina, President, PLS-J extended a welcome address and gave a brief introduction of Balwinder Singh Jammu and the contents of the released book.
Research scholar of University of Jammu Prabhjot Kour presented a research paper highlighting the qualitative values on the book released during the function.
The poetry book ‘Mitraan Naal Baharaan’ contains 31 poems for children to inculcate values among them.
The illustrations for the book have been contributed by artist Sushil Kumar Bhola.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi, JKAACL.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Popinder Singh Paras.
