Children Theatre & Dance Workshop inaugurated at JU

JAMMU, June 22: A Children Theatre and Dance Workshop for the wards of University employees was inaugurated here today at the Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu (JU).
The workshop is being organized by Department of Students Welfare and is being conducted by Dr Priya Dutta, Sumeet Sharma and Ifra Kak. The department has started this Children Theatre Workshop last year and this is third in the series. The workshop commenced with the lighting of lamp by the dignitaries.
Prof Keshav Sharma, Registrar, University of Jammu, inaugurated the workshop. While speaking on the occasion, Prof Sharma said that the workshop will help the children in overall personality development and also to explore their creativity. He expressed his gladness over the training which will prove beneficial for them in the years to come.
Earlier in her welcome address, Prof Alka Sharma, Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee congratulated the participants for getting a chance to learn theatre and dance from the experts thus taking maximum benefit of their vacations.
Prof Pankaj K Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare informed about the basic idea of conducting such activities for the benefit of larger number of participants. He insisted on the importance of theatre for the overall development of children. He said that such workshops not only enhance the confidence, imagination and creativity amongst the children but also will inculcate a sense of belonging towards the institution among the wards of the employees.
Around 40 children are taking part in this workshop which include Stuti Saigal, Dixit Gupta, Surpreet Singh, Ruhaani, Kamya Langer, Kartikay Singh, Himanshu Kundal, Hardik Bajaj, Kartik Sharma, Tathagat Chandra Shekhar, Kritika Dutt, Anandita Dutt, Swara Sharma, Iva Bharti, Divam Divyanshu, Ira Vaid, Arafat Chowdhary, Aviral Dewan, Devam Anthal, Harshit Kour, Keshavvir Sharma, Nakul Sharma, Namit Sharma, Nandini Sharma, Niharika Shehria, Nikhil Sharma, Sunidhi Mehra, Tanish Dharaie, Tushar Dharaie, Vikalp Sodhi, Manya Dogra, Aiman Reyaz, Ankush Mehra, Mohd Alyas, Shambhavi Sharma, Mohd Hamza, Aradhya and Ananya. The event was conducted by Sumeet Sharma.
